Easy Japanesy Spinach Salad

April 24, 2009 by Kirsten · Leave a Comment

I like to eat this salad with chop sticks and pretend I am at my favourite Japanese restaurant – Tanukis Cave in Auckland.

Ingredients

  • Baby Spinach – (quantity to fill individual or large salad bowl)
  • Half a small red onion
  • *optional a couple of tablespoons of chopped bacon, or chopped raw mushroom.
  • Ready made *Tamari salad dressing.

* I use ’3six9′.. It is flax oil food dressing (source of Omega), and delicious!

Method:

  1. Wash and rinse baby spinach leaves.
  2. Slice red onion thinly. Use 1/4 to 1/2 of onion depending on servings. Break up half rings and place in salad.
  3. Add optional chopped bacon or mushroom.
  4. Dress salad to your liking with Tamari salad dressing.
