April 24, 2009 by Easy Green Living · Leave a Comment

Love them or hate them, there’s no denying figs are a great source of dietary fibre. Although you can buy them dried anytime throughout the year, there’s nothing like the sweet taste and texture of fresh figs. Enjoy them as a snack or in one of our recipes. They have no fat and include many important nutrients so eat up while they’re in season!

Benefits:

Dried Figs are a powerful snack food, boosting energy and blood sugar levels quickly. Don’t eat too many at time though as they have laxative properties.

A rich source of potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium.
